Made with 99.9% pure anti-reflective coating materials, DON COMPANY’s new AR consumables are manufactured to exacting specifications for granular sizing to maintain a consistent hardness and stability on the lens.
The line includes hydrophobic coatings that offer water and oil repellence for smudge-free and easy-to-clean lenses. Practical Systems, Inc., (PSI) the exclusive distributor for DON COMPANY’s AR consumables in North and South America, is able to provide custom granular and pill sizing to meet specific needs. DON AR products are compatible with all vacuum coaters and, in addition to AR coating materials, PSI offers high-quality ion and electron beam gun filaments and monitoring crystals for process control.

The company’s end mills are made with balanced carbide materials and are rigid with no vibration issues, according to the company.
Dual PCD inserts for Optek Contour Max Generators are precision ground to within microns. The long life PCD holds tight tolerances to prevent constant calibration.

SCHNEIDER EMPHASIZES RELIABILITY OF TOOLS AND CONSUMABLES
Schneider offers all of the required tools and consumables for lens production, ranging from blocking, generating, polishing, cleaning, coating and edging.
For alloy-free blocking, Schneider’s hazardous-free, environmentally friendly blocking material, the patent pending Eco Fuse Technology glue combines optimal mechanical stability, adhesion, temperature behavior and deblocking capabilities. Even high prisms can be processed.
For generating, Schneider’s cutting tools are characterized by low waviness values, and milling tools meet the best runout and balancing values, according to the company.
Schneider’s polishing pads are one component of the Advanced Polishing System, which also includes Alumox II polishing fluid and the latest development, the S+ tool series. The newly developed abrasive polish pad material together with the latest generation polishing macro technology enhances tool life by more than 50%, according to the company.

MEI’S MULTI-EDGE TOOLS LEAD TO GREATER PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY
In an effort to optimize efficiency, MEI always develops its machines and tools together. That’s what it’s done with a new pair of multi-edging tools. The tools allow the machine to switch between work processes quickly, saving production time. The multi-edging tool shown can perform roughing, two types of edging and drill holes.
It is MEI’s policy to not sell tools as spare parts for other equipment manufacturer’s machines, and it recommends not using replacement tools (milling tools in particular) from other companies in its machines.
